Writing books has always been my dream
On this page, you can see all my works, including those I write under different pen names.
Why different pen names? They allow me to carve out different sections of my creative life to explore various themes while still ensuring that readers know exactly what they are getting when they pick up one of my books.

MARCILENA J BAILEY
A persona that needs no introduction: Marcilena J Bailey/MJ Bailey is my main penname. These are the stories that I’m most attached to or are ways for me to process more direct events. Fiction is fiction. But these are what I would consider “my” stories.
They blend genre a bit and are definitely not considered “easily marketable,” which is why I decided to self-publish.
A Tale of Isolated Panic (2024)
A writer fears being alone. A surprise sister might give her a way out, but things could always get worse.
The Final Entry (2026)
If you knew someone was going to die and you couldn’t stop it, what would you do? Well, you definitely wouldn’t fall in love, right? RIGHT?!?
Danger of the Light (2025)
An anglerfish and a human both walk into the light. Will they get burned?

MERENE ASH
Merene Ash was once a small-town girl who fled for the infinite. A wandering heart with an insatiable quest, she can tell you very little about herself. However, she can tell you that she believes in love, which means also believing in grief. And so, she writes about it passionately and unceasingly in the shadow of Lake Michigan.
Or that’s what the author’s bio says. In reality, Merene Ash is the part of me that explores love and loss. Both possibility and realized.
Songbird’s Call (2025)
Beauty is to be cherished, but what does that mean? A human encounters it in a bird and realizes they don’t know what it means to cherish.
Paper Gardens Bloom (2026)
A rabbit seeking safety runs into a flower store. He gets that, a full stomach, and a front row seat to the shenanigans humans get up to.
